A-Share Listed Printed-circuit Board (PCB) Companies - Profiles and Financial Data
Printed-circuit board (PCB) industry accounts for over 25% of the electronic component industry in production value. It is the largest segment of the electronic component industry with a production value of USD 40 billion. Meanwhile, owing to its unique position in the basic electronic industry, PCB is the liveliest sector in the electronic component industry and it has an increasing proportion in the production value of the whole electronic component industry. Within the electronic element industry, PCB industry ranked the second only to the semi conductor industry in terms of scale. Additionally, with more application fields of PCB, its importance is further strengthening.
According to CRI analysis, the world's PCB manufacturers are mainly located in Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, North America and Europe. China is the largest producer of PCBs in the world. However, it still lags behind the advanced world level in terms of overall technology.
About 50% of global electronic products such as laptops, mobile phones and household appliances are made in China. The development of downstream industries also stimulates the development of electronic auxiliary industries including the PCB industry. In 2016, the production value of China's PCB industry exceeded USD 180 billion, taking up 50% of the global production value.
CRI analysis shows that the PCB industry presents a decentralized competitive landscape in China, characterized by overall small scales of enterprises and few massive PCB enterprises. By the end of 2016, there were about 1,500 PCB enterprises in China, mainly located in Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta and Bohai Rim areas, but most enterprises earn sales revenues of less than CNY 100 million.
It is estimated that in the next few years, the PCB industry in China and the world will continue to grow and they are mainly driven by wearable devices, internet of things, cloud computing and automotive electronics and VR.
In this report, CRI analyzes 14 printed-circuit board companies listed in A-share market in China.
The report is composed of two parts: the first part is enterprise profiles and the second part is the operation status of these enterprises in the recent decade (presently 2006 to 2016, we will update it to the latest as time goes by).
The operation status is demonstrated from the following perspectives: (1) financial indexes, such as earnings per share, book value per share (BPS), sales per share, net cash flow per share, return on net worth and debt to asset ratio; (2) indexes on the income statement, such as revenue, operating profit, net profit and EBIT; (3) indexes on the income statement, such as revenue, operating profit, net profit and EBIT; (4) indexes on the balance sheet, such as liquid asset, fixed asset, current liability, non-current liability, capital reserve and shareholders' equity.
