Smoking Tobacco in Finland, 2015

Smoking Tobacco in Finland, 2015

The Finnish market for smoking tobacco has suffered a decline in recent years, partly due to taxes. In fact, the effects of recent price increases have moved the market towards lower priced brands. Additionally, the market has moved to imported brands since local production ended in 2004. Taking into consideration the total population, approximately 15 out of 100 were smokers in 2013; this figure has decreased in comparison with the one third registered in 1992. The forecast for 2015 shows a drop in smoking tobacco sales with a stable population that presents no opportunity for an increase in potential consumers.
