New Zealand Renewables Q4 2018
The non-hydropower renewable energy segment in New Zealand is well developed, with a combination of solar, wind, geothermal and biomass together contributing almost a quarter of total electricity generated in the country. The outlook forrenewables remains subdued in light of a lack of investment incentives and uncertainty surrounding future demand in the powermarket. There is, however, room for expansion in all sectors, particularly solar power and biomass which remain underdevelopedcompared to geothermal and wind power and ambitious government targets for renewables combined with the country's openand transparent investment environment do create significant upside risks over the longer-term.
