Zambia Tourism Report Q2 2018
Zambia will see steady expansion in its tourism industry over the coming years, but rapid growth will remain out of reachfor the country as infrastructure weaknesses anchor growth. The country boasts abundant natural attractions, such as safari parksand Victoria Falls, which will continue to entice visitors to the country, but a lack of transport connections will limit the industry, untilnew infrastructure projects and an expansion of flight routes come online over the longer term. Until then, the country will remainreliant on its neighbours for tourism arrivals, and receipts will remain low. Furthermore, the hotel market will remain dominated bythe low-cost and independent sector, with only a slow expansion of luxury international brands. However, the government hasidentified the importance of tourism for Zambia's economy, and we expect this focus to drive investment over the coming years.
