United Kingdom Tourism Q4 2020
There has been very little improvement in the short-term outlook for the UK's tourism industry, despite the reopening ofinternational borders and lifting of many national lockdown restrictions. An increase in Covid-19 case numbers in many regional andglobal source markets over the summer months has resulted in the UK imposing a 14-day quarantine requirement for a range ofarrivals, deterring both international visitors and restricting outbound travel. We therefore expect a sharp fall in both domestic andinternational travel for 2020. While we expect a return to growth from 2021, the potential for a 'second wave' of infections overQ420/Q121 could delay the market's recovery.
