The outlook for the UK consumer electronics market is dampened by the fact that the highest value product categoriesare all saturated - smartphones, PCs and TV sets - and that the prospects for a more lucrative sales mix have been lowered by thenegative impact of Brexit uncertainty on the purchasing power growth outlook. Brexit could also have negative spillover for the localindustry if post-transition agreement rules end up restricting market access or the ability of firms to tap into highly skilled workersfrom abroad, which would be a problem for the specialised UK electronics industry in capital and knowledge intensive activities suchas semiconductor design and research.
