United Arab Emirates Tourism Report Q4 2015

BMI View: The UAE has a well-developed tourism industry and has enjoyed a successful few years as aluxury destination. The country has recently managed to expand its mid-range hotel base, opening up thecountry to future growth from a diverse range of source markets. Regional uncertainty is a concern, however, and the country must continue its efforts to expand tourism outside of the major hotspots.

Growth in inbound arrivals has been strong for the UAE over the last few years, and the country hasencouraged this by investing heavily in the expansion of its airline capacity, hotel base and touristattractions. Improving economic conditions in key source markets have also helped increase demand, andthe country has begun to target a much broader audience by encouraging the development of mid-rangehotels. Tourism is centred in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and while they are popular destinations, developmentoutside these cities is needed to increase tourism elsewhere.
