United Arab Emirates Power Q4 2019
We have revised up our forecasts slightly this quarter, on the back of stronger expected growth in renewables output, which we foresee reaching a shade under 22.4TWh in 2028, such that this segment contributes 10.8% of the UAE’s electricity in thefinal year of our forecast period (compared to our earlier prediction of 13.7TWh and a relative contribution of moderately below7.0%). Beyond this solar-driven positive adjustment to our projections, our forecasts remain broadly the same as previously. Stronggrowth to overall power output - which we foresee increasing by an average of over 5.0% per year - will come in large part from thedevelopment of nuclear facilities. The UAE therefore remains top of both our regional and global Power Risk Rankings.
