We hold a positive consumer outlook for the UAE as strong economic growth and even stronger private consumptionlevels over the medium term anchor this view. This is further supported by stronger economic activity, high oil prices andheightened consumer confidence all pointing towards a favourable period for Emirati consumers. While we still expect some short-term volatility as a result of the 5% VAT introduced at the beginning of 2018, we believe this has sufficiently priced into consumersdecision-making process.
