Uganda Food & Drink Q3 2019
We expect to see positive growth in Uganda’s food and drink sector over the medium term. Food sales will grow by 10.6%in 2019 and expand at an annual average of 10.7% over 2019-2023. Our growth forecast for both the alcoholic and non-alcoholicdrinks category is 10.7% over our medium-term forecast period (2019-2023). Due to low disposable incomes staple foods in thebread, rice and cereals category will outperform while carbonated drinks and coffee will outperform in the non-alcoholic drinkscategory. The expansion of the alcoholic drinks category will primarily be driven by beer consumption.
