We remain upbeat on the growth trajectory for Turkey's non-hydropower renewables sectorover the coming decade, as the sector will be an important component of the Turkish government's push todiversify the power mix in order to reduce gas import reliance amid a weak lira. We forecast total capacityin the sector to more than triple between end-2016 and 2026.

We expect Turkey's non-hydropower renewables sector to expand steadily over the coming decade - withtotal sector power generating capacity amounting to 25.6GW by the end of our forecast in 2026, up from8.1GW as of end-2016. By the end of our forecast period, Turkey's wind power sector will compriseabout three quarters of total capacity in the sector, while the solar power sector will make up about 20%.
By 2026, the non-hydropower renewables sector will comprise more than 16% of total power generation,up from the 8% we estimate for 2016.
