Our 2018 consumer outlook remains weak, with only modest improvements from 2017 as economic growth slowsdown due to the overheating of the economy. Persistently high unemployment levels and rising inflation will dampen consumerspending, which will grow at a tepid pace over our five-year forecast period (2018-2022), than during the previous five-year period(2013-2027).
