Tunisia Autos Report Q2 2016

BMI View: We believe that a recovering economy should lead to increased rates of fleet renewal fromTunisian businesses, boosting local light commercial vehicle sales across 2016. This increased demand forlight commercial vehicles should offset a less encouraging outlook for the passenger car segment, whichwill be undermined by lower private consumption growth and a shrinking tourism industry.Key Views

Over 2016-2020, we expect new vehicle sales to show steady growth, supported by a strengtheningeconomy, rising incomes and favourable demographics.

Looking forwards, Tunisian new vehicle sales will remain limited by the current import quota system thatis imposed by the government.

The Minister of Trade, Mohsen Hassen, said that there would be no liberalisation of the autos sectorduring 2016.
