Full-year data for 2018 confirms that the telecoms market has performed largely in-line with our expectations, leadingonly to minor revisions of data. Growth will slow in the saturated mobile market, which will only be buoyed largely by tourist SIMs,which are deactivated periodically. Maturity and a slow but gradual shift away from multi-SIM ownership form our core view of themobile market. Competition to migrate 3G subscribers to 4G will persist in the near term, incurring higher costs for marketingexpenses and handset subsidies. Wireline voice connections are in constant decline, although the wireline broadband market willsee growth as ISPs commit to fibrerisation. Recently-concluded spectrum auctions will allow operators to develop 4G coverage toaudiences in rural areas, although the lack of a clear spectrum roadmap could hinder operators' plans to invest into emergingtechnologies, namely 5G.
