Thailand Power Q1 2020

Thailand Power Q1 2020

Key View:

Gas will maintain its dominant position in Thailand's power generation mix over the coming decade, despite governmentefforts to reduce this reliance and diversify away from the fuel source. By 2028, gas will account for around 58% of the power mix, while coal will contribute 18%, a slight decrease from 2019. Growth in the non-hydro renewable energy sector will outperform thewider power market due to the government's strong support for the sector, ongoing financial support from IFIs and advantageousnatural conditions for renewables generation.
