Thailand Power Report Q1 2018

Thailand Power Report Q1 2018

BMI View: Thailand's plan to reduce its reliance on gas-fired power generation and promote sustainable energy under the Thailand 4.0 economic model will create opportunities for alternatives such as non-hydro renewables. However, we expect gas will remain the dominant fuel. A weak consumption outlook is likely to limit the need to ramp up power generation, which we forecast to grow by a modest 2.9% in 2017 and 2.8% in 2018.
