Low oil prices are deterring investment in new projects alongside rapid outputrapidly at its maturing assets. Notably, aggressive plans are in place to boost LNG imports and expandavailable regasification capacity, as Thailand moves to wean itself off diminishing pipeline deliveries fromMyanmar.

The March 2017 amendment to Thailand's Petroleum Act has broadened contracting options for foreignE&P companies in the country. There is now the option to choose to enter into either production sharingor service contracts, in addition to the existing concession-based regime.
