Relaxation of movement restrictions, travel recommencing and government spending measures to combat the impactof Covid-19, are all being taken into account in our forecasts for the Tanzania consumer spending outlook in the short-to-mediumterm (2020-2024). The spread of Covid-19 globally will have a negative impact on Tanzania's consumer spending in 2020, with realhousehold spending forecast to grow by just 1.0% y-o-y, compared to 3.9% in 2019. In 2021 we project a stronger growth of 5.7% y-o-y growth over the year.
