The short- and medium-term outlook of the Taiwanese tourism industry remains stable with modest yet healthy growthlevels forecast on the five-year horizon. We note that the market has a degree of organic growth potential that will be unlocked outto 2022. A multitude of factors will drive growth in the market including government policies to attract visitors from new sourcemarkets, expanded bilateral relations covering tourism promotion and innovative international marketing techniques in a number ofcountries. Furthermore, rising regional demand for air travel coupled with growing spending powers and expansive air connectionswill further underpin our positive outlook. We note that the primary downside risk to growth stems from the ongoing diplomatic andpolitical tensions with mainland China.
