Taiwan Renewables Q1 2020
We forecast non-hydropower renewables in Taiwan to expand rapidly, in line with the government’s aim to rely onrenewable sources to offset a reduction in nuclear and coal-fired power output. Non-hydro renewables capacity will total over21.3GW and account for 15.0% of total generation mix by 2028, up from an estimated 4.3% in 2019. Offshore wind and solar will bethe main drivers of this growth, and we expect Taiwan to be one of the global outperformers in this two sub-sectors.
