Sweden Power Q4 2018
Our forecasts for the sector remain substantially unchanged this quarter. We expect that nuclear closures in Sweden willlead the country's government to aim to stimulate growth in the non-hydropower renewables sector over the coming decade, aslimited scope for nuclear and hydropower new-builds will elevate the importance of wind and biomass power to energy security. This will compound the issue of a lack of sufficient baseload capacity, negatively affecting both domestic and regional powermarkets. Continued economic growth and a stable increase in the population will gradually raise power demand, despite efficiencygains.
