Sweden Power Report Q2 2018
This quarter we have expanded our forecasts to 2027. This notwithstanding, our forecasts for the sector remainsubstantially unchanged this quarter. We expect that nuclear closures in Sweden will lead the country's government to aim tostimulate growth in the non-hydropower renewables sector over the coming decade, as limited scope for nuclear and hydropowernew-builds will elevate the importance of wind and biomass power to energy security. This will compound the issue of a lack ofsufficient baseload capacity, negatively affecting both domestic and regional power markets. Continued economic growth andstable population increase will gradually raise power demand, despite the efficiency gains.
