Slovakia Power Q3 2019
In view of further delays to the commissioning of nuclear capacity, we have altered our generation and capacityforecasts this quarter, pushing the addition of sizeable new output into 2020. We had previously expected generation would rise5.4% in 2019 and 6.6% in 2020, before a plateauing of output. We now anticipate a very modest rise of 0.4% in 2019, before majorincreases of 6.45% in 2020 and 4.8% in 2021, taking total generation to 28.8TWh in 2021, up from 25.8TWh in 2019. Beyond thedelayed nuclear expansion, we continue to forecast only very limited growth in the Slovakian power market. One potentialsignificant development is the election of a new anti-coal and pro-renewables president, but with the head of state having littleformal power in Slovakia, the most noteworthy aspect of this is a shift in voter orientation - which could feed through into the 2020parliamentary elections.
