Slovakia Power Report Q2 2018

BMI View:

There are no major changes to our forecasts again this quarter, as we continue to anticipate that Mochovce 3 willbecome operational in late 2018 - following connection to the grid in February - while we also continue to forecast that Mochovce 4will start generating power in late 2019, such that nuclear comes to account for 63.0% of the power mix in 2019, up from 56.5% in2017. Coal will continue to linger in the power mix, accounting for 7.8% of total power generation by 2027, as Slovakia followsGermany’s lead, in terms of prolonging partial reliance on this fuel source. Slovakia’s overall Country Risk backdrop is generally verystable, although some risk is introduced to the equation by significant street protests and cracks to the ruling coalition, caused bypopular uproar over the murders of an investigative journalist and his fiancé.
