Saudi Arabia Telecommunications Report Q2 2018
After heavy losses in 2016 and H117, we believe the Saudi mobile market recuperated in the second half of 2017, but ina still heavily saturated market, we expect only moderate organic growth in mobile subscribers to 2022. We believe growth will comefrom migration to 3G/4G and other VAS, especially given the operators’ strong investment into developing their 4.5G and 5Gcapabilities. In the fixed sector, we believe there will be little to no growth in fixed voice, but fixed broadband subscriptions will growon the back on fibre developments by the government and operators. We believe ARPU figures will increase, as operators have shedlow-cost prepaid subscribers and are focusing on more lucrative services, although the presence of two MVNOs in the market couldprove a downside to our forecasts.
