We hold an optimistic outlook for the Qatari consumer over 2018 and into 2019, on the back of stronger economicgrowth and higher oil prices, which will boost confidence and consumer demand. Despite a 12-month-long diplomatic crisis withits regional peers, the Qatari economy has proven resilient, with key sectors, such as construction and manufacturing, boostingeconomic activity ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. While inflation will become a concern for low-income households, amid theplanned introduction of 5% VAT over the second half of 2018, we believe that the majority of consumers will be able to withstandhigher prices, given generally high disposable income levels and expected exemptions on essential goods and services.
