We hold an optimistic outlook for the Qatari consumer over 2018 on the back of stronger economic growth and higheroil prices, which will boost confidence and consumer demand. Despite nearly a ten-month-long diplomatic crisis with its regionalpeers, the Qatari economy has proven resilient with key sectors, such as construction and manufacturing, boosting economicactivity ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The postponed introduction of 5% VAT in Qatar is another positive for consumers.
