Poland Telecommunications Q4 2019
Key View :
Next-generation infrastructure deployment, uptake of premium non-voice services as well as complex, multi-screenconverged services are what moves the Polish telecoms market. Opportunities remain in the wireline voice and broadband space, but the mobile market is saturated and we forecast it to decline in numbers as inactive subscriptions are disconnected. The delay tothe refarming of the 700MHz band poses downside risks to the development of 4G and 5G services, as it delays spectrumdistribution. Despite the merger of UPC and Multimedia facing regulatory pushback and being cancelled, we believe that furtherconsolidation will take place in the wireline segment. Any player wishing to compete with Orange and Cyfrowy Polsat on convergedservices needs to attain a certain scale.
