Poland Insurance Q1 2019
Poland's insurance sector has long appealed to regional and global companies because of the size of the population andthe economy in the context of Central and Eastern Europe. Risks arising from politics and from the business environment have beenseen as acceptable in a country that has been a member of the European Union for well over a decade. Thanks to the growth inhealth insurance in particular and non-life insurance in general, premiums have been expanding strongly. Our view of Poland'seconomic prospects are consistent with continued (near) double-digit annual growth in non-life premiums through the forecastperiod. Life insurance premiums will also rise. However, household incomes and (by the standards of the large developedeconomies of Western Europe) the low savings rate mean that life insurance does not yet play an important role in Poland'sorganised savings landscape.
