BMI View: Strengthening economic growth, rising consumer confidence and surging real wages will drive a healthy growth in the food and drink sector over the remaining months of 2017 and 2018. However, as a number of food and drink sectors are approaching maturity, product innovation and convenience will become key factors in driving growth. While there is still a considerable potential for growth in the fragmented mass grocery retail market, the right-wing Polish government's intentions to enact restrictions in the sector pose considerable risks for international retailers.
