Poland Banking & Financial Services Report Q2 2018
Supported by strong economic tailwinds and a reputation for well-established regulation throughout all financial sectors,Poland is well placed to continue on its current growth trajectory. A mixture of domestic players mixed with overseas operators haskept the sector diversified and competitive. With further opportunities available, we expect ongoing interest from new foreignfinancial services firms looking to enter the country. In reaction to this, we expect the government to take further measures tosupport the strengthening of domestic operators. In addition, there is growing likelihood that domestic players may consolidate inorder to strengthen their position in the banking and insurance sub-sectors. Meanwhile, the single largest factor which could bringabout a change to our forecast is the government's decision to drop its Swiss franc loan conversion plan and the ongoing debatesurrounding what legislation will replace it.
