Poland Agribusiness Report Q2 2018
The five-year outlook for the Polish agricultural industry remains positive, with steady growth expected over our forecastperiod to 2022. Livestock production will continue to track upwards steadily, owing to robust export demand and healthy domesticconsumption. Poland will continue to consolidate its position as a prime EU meat exporter, particularly in the poultry segment.Strong levels of foreign and domestic investment will support the livestock industry's long-term ambitions. Furthermore, the EU'sscrapping of the sugar quota in September 2017 will boost sugar output in Poland as the country looks to capitalise on export-oriented growth, following French and German sugar beet producers. We expect short- and medium-term growth in domestic sugaryields, with strong surpluses available for export.
