Poland Agribusiness Q1 2021
Key View:
We retain a positive outlook for the Polish agricultural industry in 2020 and over the medium term to 2023/24. Thelivestock complex will be an outperformer, owing to steady export demand growth. Poland will continue to consolidate its positionas a prime EU meat exporter, particularly in the poultry segment. Strong levels of foreign and domestic investment will support thelivestock industry's long-term ambitions. The sugar industry will face tight prospects over the short term owing to the global supplyglut, but we see pressures easing from 2020/21 onwards. The Covid-19 pandemic will depress spending in low- and middle-incomehouseholds, as we expect sugar and beef demand to be hit particularity hard during the challenging economic period of 2020.
