Pakistan Oil & Gas Q4 2018

Pakistan Oil & Gas Q4 2018

Key View:

Pakistan's dependence on oil and gas imports will deepen over the coming years, to meet the needs of its rapidlygrowing economy and surging energy demand across industries. The government's decision to re-orient the national power mix infavour of natural gas (LNG) will bring with it, more investment to build out Pakistan's lagging gas import, distribution and storageinfrastructure, largely at the expense of costlier and more-pollutive sources such as coal and furnace oil. Insufficient and inefficientdomestic refining output will continue to drive the need for direct refined fuels imports, with gasoline set to outperform.
