Oman Tourism Q2 2018

Oman Tourism Q2 2018

BMI View: BMI has made a series of positive forecast revisions in the latest Q2 2018 Oman tourism update to account for the latest market trends. We continue to retain a positive outlook for the industry over the short- and medium-terms. Strong tourism growth will be driven by a number of factors including economic diversification efforts, sustained government investments, diversifying source markets and relaxed visa policies. Furthermore, the market remains small and contains significant untapped organic growth potential in an era of declining air fares and growing demand for international air travel. The country remains a lucrative investment destination with a number of new hotels, integrated tourism complexes and commercial properties in the development pipeline. Potential downside risks to growth come from regional instability, particularly the conflict in neighbouring Yemen.
