The outlook for Oman's power sector is broadly positive. The government has committed to expanding installed capacity in order to keep up with rising demand and a number of significant thermal power projects are planned or underway, supported by extensive natural reserves. The renewables segment is in the very earliest stages of development and unlikely to see more rapid growth until more enticing incentives are offered to potential investors.
