BMI View: Oman's IT market was hurt by the broader economic downturn in 2015 and 2016 that wasderived from the fall in the oil price - but there were other factors at play that will continue to be a drag onthe market, such as a loss of demographic support, PC saturation and the cannibalisation of some PCspending by smartphones. The outlook is, however, brighter from 2017, especially for software andservices, but we caution that risks are weighted to the downside as Oman is more vulnerable than most GulfStates to another move lower in oil prices.
