Norway Telecommunications Q1 2021
Key View:
The Norwegian mobile phone market is stagnant, with the dominant operators seeing their customer bases move topost-paid contracts. While 4G already constitutes the bulk of subscriptions, we expect all 3G subscribers will have moved to 4G or 5Gby 2025 as the move to high-speed broadband services is the main driver in Norway's market. With 5G commercially launched byTelia and Telenor H120, we expect a fast adoption of low latency services and growth in the M2M segment. In the fixed segment, thefibre-to-the-home/building (FTTH/B) sector is competitive and growing, slower technologies such as cable and DSL are beingreplaced by fibre or mobile broadband.
