Morocco Autos Report Q2 2016

BMI View: Due to 2015's strong sales performance, we believe that in 2016, Morocco will become thefastest growing vehicle market across the North African countries that BMI tracks. A combination of lowinterest rates and a likely improvement in the construction sector contributes to our positive stance towardsthe market.

This quarter, BMI has extended its forecast period to 2020.

Over this period, we expect new vehicle sales to grow 55.4%, to take total new vehicle sales to over the210,000 unit mark by 2020.

We expect stronger growth from passenger cars (59.3%) than commercial vehicles (12.4%) over the2016-2020 forecast period.

Beyond 2016, we believe that strong medium-term growth in sales will be driven by increased prosperityin the country, as well as cheaper models available from domestic production and the elimination ofimport taxes on European models.
