Malaysia Telecommunications Q3 2019

Key View:

There will be upsides to growth in the fixed broadband segment as the recently implemented Mandatory StandardAccess Pricing (MSAP) has already forced operators to introduce more competitive plans. We believe the strongest potential willcome in fibre, and the government's soon to be unveiled communications policy will certainly double-down on fibrerisation. 4Guptake continues to be encouraging although price-led competition from alternative 4G licensees and U Mobile will drive downmobile revenues in the short run. Wireline voice will continue to see declines as mobile substitution in the consumer segment willcause the majority of connections to be enterprise-based.
