Latin America Food & Drink Q2 2019
A generally improving economic outlook in Latin America will support food and drink spending over our five-yearforecast period to 2023. Following a strong rebound in 2017, food and drink spending declined in USD terms over 2018 due to weakcurrency dynamics, notably in Argentina and Brazil. From 2019 onwards, rising disposable incomes will support expansionopportunities for both staples and premium food and drink products for most markets in the region, although we caution that thepopularity of discounters will maintain pressure on margins in the mass grocery retail sector.
