Kazakhstan & Central Asia Defence & Security 2019
Demand for defence products will remain relatively strong in Central Asia over the coming years, as the region's militariesseek to upgrade or replace outdated equipment in the face of threats from terrorism, internal instability, organised crime andregional tensions. That said, in many cases, budget constraints will limit new procurement. Kazakhstan will retain its position as themost developed defence player regionally, with Turkmenistan the second; however, much of the country's defence output willremain uncompetitive on the international market over our forecast period to 2028.
