The mobile market remains saturated with a high degree of low-value prepaid subscribers. The arrival of a new mobileoperator, Iliad, in the summer of 2018, will increase competition on the Italian telecoms market further. The company is targeting a10% market share, but we believe that Iliad cannot presume on low prices alone to differentiate itself in an already low-cost market.Broadband market is offering more scope for growth as rural areas are still largely not connected. The Italian government isinvesting heavily to expand broadband services in the country and pay-TV player Sky is targeting the launch of broadband servicesin 2019.
