The mobile market is close to saturation with a high degree of low-value prepaid subscribers. The arrival of a new mobileoperator, Iliad, in May 2018, increased the competition in the Italian telecoms market further. The company is targeting a 10%market share, but we believe that Iliad cannot presume on low prices alone to differentiate itself in an already low-cost market.Broadband market is offering more scope for growth as rural areas are still largely not connected. The Italian government isinvesting heavily to expand broadband services in the country and is pushing for a merger between Open Fiber and TIM. Pay-TVplayer Sky is targeting the launch of broadband services in 2019 in partnership with Open Fiber.
