As work on the Tamar, Leviathan and Karish/Tanin gas fields is accelerating, Israel is set for a boost in natural gasproduction and exports over the coming years. The country is currently working towards securing a viable export option in order tomonetise its large resource base. Although the approval of Israel's natural gas framework has fostered a return to activity in thecountry's upstream sector, uncertainty about government intervention within the industry remains. The launch of a new offshorehydrocarbons licensing round in November 2018 should help attract more international companies and spur foreign investment inIsrael's oil and gas sector.
