Ireland Insurance Q3 2018
The insurance industry is well established in Ireland and the country plays a key role as an international financial hub, reflected in the presence of many major multinational carriers in the market. Both the life and non-life sectors are therefore wellcatered for via extensive distribution channels and diverse product ranges. The short-term outlook remains broadly positive for thedomestic insurance sector, with solid economic growth expected to translate to greater demand in a range of lines. Headwindspersist, however, in the form of high claims costs in key lines (particularly motor) and some regulatory uncertainty (primarily in thehealth insurance segment).
