Indonesia Real Estate Report 2017

Indonesia Real Estate Report 2017

BMI View: Commercial real estate is benefitting from the supportive business environment and risingconsumer sentiment; there is scope for development and management across the sector. Demand willremain moderate over the mid-term, but promising macro-fundamentals see growing opportunity forinvestors in the long-term, particularly in Jakarta.

Real GDP growth in Indonesia is forecasted to edge up 0.3% to 5.3% in 2017, following an industrialgrowth uptick, rising consumer spending and implementation of pro-business reforms. Average real growthbetween 2018-2021 will reach 5.9%, a marginal 0.1% dip form our prior analysis.

The Indonesian economy is steaming ahead and creating an appealing destination for foreign investment.

We believe supportive government policy, recovering commodities trade and good consumer and businesssentiment will maintain strong investment activity over the forecast period to 2021. Commercial real estateis expected to observe rising demand over the mid-term as opportunities for investment and marketcapitalisation grow.
