Indonesia Oil & Gas Q1 2019
The focus of Indonesia's energy policies for the foreseeable future will be reducing costly crude oil and refined fuelsimports and supporting the weakening rupiah. This will be achieved by priortising the utilisation of domestic crudes as feedstock, increasing the biofuels content in fuels and reduce expenditure in the USD by conducting energy trades in IDR or other non-USDcurrencies. The outlook for the upstream sector remains bearish, with both oil and gas production forecast to decline, as insufficientincentives and high above-ground risks continue to deter significant investment.
