The latest results for the major insurance companies, confirm that the overall environment is positive. Premiums havebeen growing at mid-single digit rates in both of the main segments, and should continue to do so. This is partly due to an economicenvironment that is fairly benign. In the life segment, the insurers' offerings appear to be holding their own against other conduitsfor organised savings (such as real estate, Hungarian state bonds and bank deposits). In the non-life segment, it appears that priceshave been firm in both the motor vehicle and property insurance sub-sectors.
