BMI View: Greece continues to benefit from a surge in travel to countries in Western Europe which are
perceived as safer destinations compared to traditionally popular summer holiday markets such as Egypt
and Turkey. Visitor numbers are expected to rise steadily, supported by an expansive hotel market and
numerous domestic and international transport connections. Therefore, the country is an attractive prospect
for investors and there are numerous developments in the pipeline, though the country's economic troubles
and a frequently burdensome bureaucracy remain downside risks.
